In April 2012 before the renovation works started on the Roseau Cathedral I published two articles in the New Chronicle on the beautiful murals in the Roseau cathedral.
I invited the public at that time to have a good look at these beautiful oil paintings by Redemptorist Brother Ildephonse LEPAS (+1910) and stated that “This might be your last chance to see Brother Ildephonse’s masterpieces from his own brush”
Now in June 2022, a few months after the death of local painter Earl Etienne (+ Feb 2022), who was contacted in 2012 to repair and restore the damaged paintings after the new roof was completed, I am beginning to fear for these paintings.
So I decided to re- publish my beautiful photographs of these masterful works of art. as a historical record and a guide for the restoration in the future.
